Here's a few good stories to remind us how easy it is to be thankful.

Thanksgiving Day in a nursing home provided an opportunity for the residents to sit around the dinner table and give thanks. They expressed their thankfulness for the home in which they were living, for the nurses, their families and the beautiful fall colours. One little lady, when her turn came, said, "I thank the Lord for two perfectly good teeth, one in my upper jaw, and one in my lower jaw, that match so that I can chew my food."

An older farmer and his wife were sitting on the front porch after dinner one evening. She wasn't feeling really well, and the husband figured that it was about time for him to express to his dear old wife how much she meant to him -- it was about time, because she had graciously been caring for his every need for the forty-two years they had been married. With unusual emotion, he managed to give her one of the first compliments she'd ever heard from him. He said, "Wife, you've been such a wonderful woman, that there are times I can hardly keep from telling you."

From a Peanuts cartoon. Snoopy is getting his dog food for Thanksgiving dinner, but he is aware that everyone else, inside the house, is getting turkey dinner. He thinks about it and then talks to himself, "How about that! Everyone is eating turkey today, but just because I'm a dog, I get dog food!" He trots away and positions himself on his familiar perch on top of his dog house. "Of course, it could have been worse, I could have been born a turkey!"

A food editor in another local newspaper, received a telephone call from a woman inquiring how to cook a twenty-two pound turkey. "Just a minute", said the editor, turning to consult his cooking chart. "Thank you very much," replied the novice cook, and hung up!

In a small town in Mexico there are hot springs and cold springs which flow virtually side by side. Because of the convenience of this natural phenomenon, the woman often bring their laundry, boil their clothes in the hot springs and then rinse them in the cold springs. A tourist was watching and commented to his guide. "They must think that God is very kind to supply such ample clean hot and cold water side by side!" The guide replied, "No senor, there is much grumbling because he supplies no soap!"

We have so much to thank God for don't we. This would be a great day to make a list of several people to whom we can drop a note, or make a call to say, "thank you" and don't forget to thank God for the breath of life in you, for our beautiful province and that he loves you no matter what.
